To break in your new clogs, Sandgrens recommends wearing them for short periods initially, gradually increasing the wear time. They advise against using water or heat to speed up the process, as this can damage the leather.

Caring for Your Clogs:

Vegetable Tanned Leather: This pure form of tanned leather may be more rigid at first but will break in over time. Scars and marks are not defects but signs of the living material.

Nude Vegetable Tanned Leather: The color will darken with exposure to sunlight, which is a natural process. No conditioners or protectants should be applied, as they will alter the color.

Nubuck Leather: This material is sensitive to water, so the clogs should not be worn in heavy rain. Use a horsehair brush regularly to avoid permanent stains.

Wood Base: Avoid wearing the clogs in heavy rain, as the wood may swell. Minor chips or marks can be repaired with wood glue or sanded down.
